Traditional approaches to documentation have always presented community residential providers with many ongoing problems. Reviewing data in a timely fashion, ensuring the documentation is filled out properly, and providing accountability are just a few of the issues a provider must address on an ongoing basis. In addition, accessing multiple sites represents unique challenges. Imagine!, which provides a range of care services in multiple settings, has addressed these issues by developing web-based technology. Imagine! is currently using MedSupport to complete medication scheduling , prompting and recording system. This system is unique, and was co-developed with a Colorado based software company.
Medication Technology with MedSupport
The medication system provides a web-based customizable scheduling and prompting system that tracks and monitors the delivery of medications. The program incorporates an integrated alert system to notify appropriate staff when a medication is to be administered, along with e-mail if a medication is late. It tracks all over-the-counter medications given to a consumer with a prompting mechanism for logging appropriate follow-up. Because the database keeps track of clients/consumers and staff locations, they can be assigned seamlessly to other locations along with their vital information including medication, emergency information or over-the-counter medication information. The ease of the interface makes it a quick, user friendly function that reduces staff training, alleviates long learning curves and provides an efficient way to monitor medications from a back office.
